There are places you've never dreamed of...

The Story

Nineteen-year-old misfit and perpetual underachiever, Flick Wimple, has always lived in the shadow of her caring but neurotic elder sister, Alice. Since their parents died in a car crash, Alice has had to become more of a mother to Flick - a responsibility that traps them both and heightens their love-hate relationship. Resigned to the way things are, Flick determines to expect nothing exceptional from life and give little in return.

She is forced to re-evaluate, however, when one day she steps through the wrong doorway and finds herself trapped in the space between parallel worlds; the place known as the In-Between. There she is met by the mysterious, if slightly nerdy, Guide Calicus; a young man who has spent his entire life leading people between worlds. He offers Flick the chance to leave her problems behind and journey to another world and, as he leads her through the In-Between, the two begin to form a close bond, causing him to wonder what it would be like to live a life of his own.

But all is not right in the In-Between; other Guides are starting to go missing and tears are appearing in the walls... Ultimately, Flick must make a choice; to hold on to her past, her sister and the world she knows, or risk everything to try and save much more...

The In-Between is an original story of love, friendship and letting go, with both humour and heart.

Album Reviews

The West End Voice
"I encourage any theatre fan to take the time and listen to this fabulous creation."

The Arts Review
"I only hope that this truly unique and original score makes it onto a West End stage soon."
"Having listened to the album a few times over, the amount of detail in the musical numbers is quite extraordinary and more and more layers are revealed each time… a SENSATIONAL concept album."

Jonathan Baz Reviews
"Based upon these 7 songs alone, the entire show should be outstanding. Buy this recording and support the work. The In-Between deserves a staging soon and has the potential to become a major West End hit."
"a refreshingly original story… and some really compelling songs to bolster it and I, for one, would certainly like to see more of this show."

"A story quite unlike anything on the West End stage at the moment."

The Public Reviews
"If there was ever a new musical destined for a long and successful future, then this is it."
"Tisdall works in a musical theater-rock vernacular that aptly fits the characters and their angst-ridden relationship, and the lyrics have a decided pungency. It's little wonder that the likes of Julie Atherton and Daniel Boys are among the gifted singers who have taken part in this concept recording."

West End Frame
"The In-Between would be one of those musicals that you leave singing all the songs on the train because after just one listen you remember them."

West End Wilma
"All 7 songs on this CD are wonderful and I can’t wait for this show to materialise into the west end very soon.

"In a world of jukebox musicals, it's enterprises like this that still give hope for the future of musical theatre. Check it out immediately!"
